History of the bells
1737
6 bells cast by Samuel Knight from the old 5.
1769
Tenor recast by Pack & Chapman.
1810
5th (of 6) recast by Thomas Mears.
1882
2nd (of 6) recast by Mears & Stainbank.
1926
Bells rehung in the old framework with new fittings by John Taylor, who also recast the 4th (of 6). The remaining bells were retuned.
1954
2 new trebles cast by John Taylor.
1955
Trebles hung in the tower to complete the octave.
1989
Back two bells became unringable, so all ringing took place on the front 6.
1997
3rd recast by Whitechapel, 7th welded by Soundweld, and all bells further retuned and rehung with new fittings in the old frame by Whitechapel.
Edwin J Lambert was a member of the Kent County Association of Change Ringers and appears in their KCACR Roll of Honour. Details as follows:
