Horsmonden Village Archive
A Digital Archive of Horsmonden Life
The Horsmonden Village Archive is organised and managed by the Horsmonden Nostalgia Group (see separate entry for the Horsmonden Nostalgia Group) from their HQ in the Vestry room of the Methodist Church.
Commencing in 2018, and using specialist computer software, the objective is to preserve digital images of Horsmonden’s rich history derived from a multitude of sources provided mostly by villagers, including photos, postcards, programs, maps, documents and objects.
In due course the Historical Society’s considerable archive of albums, documents, maps, etc will also be digitised and included in the Village Archive.
The database is fully searchable and is available for both current and future generations to use for research, education, genealogy and general interest.
Presentations showing the content of the archive commenced in 2022 and will become a regular event in the village.
Visitors with items to be digitised, or just to view the Village Archive, are welcome to visit us on Tuesday mornings in the Methodist Church, Furnace Lane, TN12 8LT between 10am and 12.30pm.
