MONTHLY TALKS
Talks are given in Goudhurst Parish Hall on the 3rd Wednesday in the month at 2.30 pm
Annual General Meeting
followed by
“Blinded on Duty”
by Steve Pendleton
formerly of the 2nd Battalion Royal Green Jackets
Wednesday, 20th May, 2.30 p.m. Goudhurst Parish Hall
Steve served with the Royal Green Jackets for three and a half years, mostly in Northern Ireland. In November 1991 the helicopter in which he was travelling crashed into a hillside. He suffered multiple injuries and his left leg was amputated above the knee. His head injuries left him registered blind and deaf in his right ear.
Following months of rehabilitation he undertook various courses of study and, among other things, qualified as a chef. He teaches Braille at Canterbury Christchurch University. He also enjoys gardening and rough and tumble with his three daughters.
Non-Members welcome – £2.50
